Take Olive Leaf Extract with food or without?

Question:
Do I take Olive Leaf capsules with or without food? The woman at the health food store said with food. The bottle says take between meals. Which one is it?

Answer:
The answer is both - depending on the product and your system.
If the product is very concentrated, it may irritate your stomach in which case it would be better to take it with food.
If the product is a blend of olive leaves and olive leaf extract, and not as concentrated as a pure extract, you could probably take it between meals.
You also get used to it so may need to start with meals then later begin to take it between meals.
You may lose some of the effectiveness of the olive leaf if taken with certain amino acids, so the best option is to work towards taking it between meals, however I don't believe this is a major issue.

Question:
So it's better on an empty stomach, but how long to wait in between dosages to take more of the olive leaf extract?
I have the liquid by Vabori. So how long to wait before and after the dosage can I eat and drink water?
I read its okay to take water or some little juice to wash the taste but how long do I have to wait for it to go down and do its job before drinking heaps of water to keep rehydrated and same with food but I'm more concerned about water.

Does drinking water more than a little dilute the effect of the liquid of OLE for it to work?

Answer:
I suggest take it half an hour before a meal and wait an hour after a carbohydrate meal to two hours after a protein meal before taking a dose.

You will derive some benefit whenever you take it and it would take complicated tests to show how long after each food type you should wait.

You could resume hydration about half an hour after you have taken a dose but again, if you're thirsty sooner don't stress about drinking.

I have always found it better to take it with a little (egg-cupful) or no water if it's a tincture and I want to treat a throat infection. If you want it to reach the intestines for a gut infection/traveller's diarrhea take with half a glass of water. A full glass of water would I think delay absorption somewhat.

Waiting period after taking olive leaf capsules

Question:
How long do you have to wait before you can eat, once you've taken olive leaf tablets on an empty stomach?

Answer:
You should be fine eating half an hour after taking olive leaf extract.

The amino acids glycine, lysine, cysteine and histidine MAY reduce the virucidal effect of olive leaf extract. If this is true, then one should give time for the tablets to get to the small intestine before protein meals reach the stomach.
How long does this take?
I don't think anyone has published studies on this but about half an hour should be sufficient for most of it to have passed on.
I don't believe one should be overly worried about this.
